I've studied art over my lifetime having earned BFA degrees in painting, illustration, graphic design and a certificate in botanical illustration. In addition, I took private classes in watercolor in the 1970s and practiced drawing from childhood until the present.
Being endlessly curious, I've worked in numerous media - watercolor, colored pencil, graphite, pen and ink. scratchboard, acrylic and printmaking. Now I'm learning egg tempera and beginning a series of hand-colored woodblock prints.
I take inspiration from the beauty of the many landscapes of Colorado. I love the wild plants of my mountain home for their tenacity in less than ideal conditions. The wonder of a white evening primrose or a vivid blue penstemon growing out of a gravel embankment is food for my soul.
